does anyone know about the med zonegran? they started my son who is 3 on this. has anyone had any good/bad side effects

Hi there I know a friend that was on that and she was in her own world. She did not know what was going on. She had to get off of it fast. They wanted me on it but once I found that out I said NO. I find the great drug I'm on now is Keppra I have never been on a better drug like this one. My seizures I have to say are kind of gone I did not think I would ever say that. I hope you do the right thing. Just thought I would let you know. I always ask others before I start new meds out to. Good thing to do. Limeridge.

I also was recently put on Zonegram - up to 400 mg / day now. I wasn't able to tolerate Topomax - I was told that this had less side effects. Well, I haven't had a grand mal lately, but I still have partials off and on. I have no memory, no concentration, basically no brain. But the seizures are better. I was a paralegal. Now I'm nothing. But the seizures are better...

I very recently started Zonegran.It was just added to the two other medications that I was already taking!As far as I can tell, it is working.However, it obviously had side effects on my sleep. Sometimes, I do sleep like a log; just as if I was using sleeping pills.However, I did also experience damaged nights a few times.How does it work? I don't know.What's going to happen in the near future? I wish I knew.At this point, I can only hope for the best; the very best.Hope that does help.
