hi,

Hi I am 28 yrs old.  I just switched to Zonegran in July of 2004.   I also take two other meds.  I had the VNS surgery in oct. of last year.  Anyway, I was taking Zonegran at night only and it kept me up so I had to take it in the morning.  Another side effect that I get from it is diahreahea (sp).  I still have it to this day.  Same days are better than others.  Hope this helps

I too am the mother of a 3 1/2 year old who is currently being switched from trileptal to zonegram.  He is finally beginning to eat again,( he was loosing weight rapidly)and it seems to be helping with his sleeping at night. Though after reading about the congnitive affects and the zoneing out I am quite concerned. He is very smart, and I don't want to change that nor do I want a zombie for a son.  Please let me know if anyone else has positive results on this medicine, especially young children.

Thanks,

Lori

I am going to schedule and appt. w/ my Ped. Neurologist as well.
