Scholarships are offered with a variety of criteria to a vast pool of candidates. For people with epilepsy or their family members, there may be special scholarships just for you. Scholarships can be offered for any level of education but are generally given for assistance in college or graduate school.

American Association on Health and Disability

"Frederick J. Krause Scholarship on Health and Disability" is awarded annually to deserving college students with a disability who are pursuing undergraduate/graduate studies related to the health and disability.

Elam Baer & Janis Clay Educational Scholarship

Students who live in Minnesota or eastern North Dakota and have shown courage in dealing with epilepsy, commitment to their education, and perseverance in eliminating the obstacles that epilepsy may present are welcome to apply for the Elam Baer & Janis Clay Educational Scholarship. Erika Knode Memorial Scholarship

Scholarships are awarded to students who show courage when dealing with epilepsy and seizures, a strong commitment to their education, and perseverance in eliminating the obstacles that living with epilepsy may present. The scholarship is named for Erika Knode, who died in 2014 of sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP). She was a 2004 graduate of Clark High School in San Antonio. The scholarships are funded by the Erika Epilepsy Awareness Memorial Foundation and awarded by the Epilepsy Foundation Central & South Texas. Applicants should be high school seniors or students at a trade school, college, or university who reside in Central and South Texas. Learn how to apply.

Ira Rosenzwog Memorial Scholarship Fund

Awarded by the Epilepsy Foundation Maryland, the Ira Rosenzwog Scholarship Fund was created to assist college students and others who have epilepsy to further their education. Applicants must be a resident ot Maryland. Learn more here.

The Jim Davies Scholarship

The Jim Davies Scholarship provides financial support for the pursuit of higher education to students living with epilepsy. These students must demonstrate a strong commitment to their education and perseverance in overcoming the obstacles epilepsy may present. The Jim Davies Scholarship is a one-year $1,000 award from the Epilepsy Foundation of Greater Chicago for& students residing in Illinois. Learn how to apply.

Morgan McGee Music Scholarship

The Morgan McGee Scholarship Fund was established to help students with epilepsy reach their full potential. This opportunity is for high school seniors and current college students who have epilepsy and currently live in Idaho planning to attend school in Idaho. Sara Elizabeth Stubblefield Memorial Scholarship for Persons with Epilepsy

Awarded by the Epilepsy Foundation Greater Chicago, this scholarship will provide financial support for the pursuit of higher education to a student living with epilepsy who demonstrates a strong commitment to his/her education and perseverance in overcoming the obstacles that epilepsy may present. It is a one-year $2,000 award and will be given to a deserving student who has epilepsy and is under a physician's care for epilepsy and is college-bound or a vocational technical school bound high school senior residing in the state of Illinois. Shannon O' Daniel Memorial Scholarship and Peggy Sherrell Memorial Scholarship

The Epilepsy Foundation of Kentuckiana sponsors two scholarships for students living with epilepsy in Kentucky and Southern Indiana.

  • The recipient of the Shannon O'Daniel Memorial Scholarship will be a college-bound high school senior who has shown courage in dealing with epilepsy and seizures, commitment to their education, and perseverance in eliminating the obstacles that epilepsy and seizures may present.
  • The recipient of the Peggy Sherrell Memorial Scholarship will be a degree- or certificate-seeking student who shows courage when dealing with epilepsy and seizures, a strong commitment to their education, and perseverance in eliminating the obstacles epilepsy and seizures may present.

Epilepsy Association Scholarships

Awarded by the Epilepsy Association of Western New York, this annual scholarship is awarded to two individuals who live in the organization's service area and have epilepsy/seizure disorder. The award is based on their motivation to accomplish their educational and career goals, potential for scholarship, academic achievement, and financial need. Learn more here.
