Hi Upanama, I am also new to this. My 5 yr. old daughter had her first seizure (4 of them) on Feb. 2nd. She has not had a seizure-free day since then. Her first med was Trileptol and it tripled her seizures. The next med was Topomax and it did nothing. Now she is on Keppra and Phenobarbatol. The Pheno is being reduced weekly, so by next week, she'll be on Keppra only. She seems kind of hyper, argumentative and grouchy all day. But that could be because she hasn't been back to school since Feb. 10th and is stuck at home all day with me. It's difficult to tell. I also can't say that Keppra is working for her because she still averages about 8 seizures a day. Don't let that discourage you. I am just suspecting that my daughter is medical refactory (doesn't respond to meds). And I think every individual is different, so what works for one person might not work for another. Good luck with your choice. Let me know what happens. PJ

I am sorry to hear about your daughter, being so young and having all those things happen can be very overwhelming I'm sure. I'm going to offer a suggestion, as you said every individual is different and what works for them may not work for others. However if you truly believe that your daughter may be unresponsive to medication, have you possibly considered an alternative approach. Such as something to let her stresses and anxieties out, or possibly consider changing her diet? Now I am just offering it as a suggestion. But it may be something to consider down the road and I don't want you to think I don't think you are a good parent or know whats best for your daughter, and I just wrote that because some people can misenterpret how things mean when they are reading it off a computer screen. And the reason I am suggesting it is because I have experienced the results of eating organically as compared to how I was eating. So if you do in fact have any questions and want more information don't hesitate to get in touch with me. We are all here looking for answers and I found mine. I hope you find hers. ~Andrew

My son doesn't take it, but my very good friend's son, age 4, took ir for awhile. He was very violent, could not sleep and was just SOOOOOO grumpy it was hard to be around him. His friends didn't want to play with him, and he even said he didn't want to be around him. It made him feel very bad, and since it didn't work to control seizures, they took him off. We noiticed a huge difference-we had the old cameryn back! Good luck, but beware of the side effects!
