My little girl is 7, she has been on Keppra since 12-16-08.  She has tolerated it very well.  Her complex partial seizures are well controlled (only 1 has occurred since she has been on the med).  Her neuro also tried putting her on Lamictal and she was one of the few that got the mouth ulcers and rash.  She is by nature an anxious child and I can not say that Keppra has changed her behavior.  Best of luck to you!

Hi My 10 year old daughter has been on Keppra for nearly two years. It has resulted in a fairly good level of seizure control but she is now experiencing some breakthrough epileptic activity. However, we have noticed over the last four months or so, since the dosage was increased to 1000mg twice daily that her behaviour has deteriorated as well as her mood. She suffers from violent mood swings, paranoia and has expressed some very dark thoughts, she also will not do as she is told, is very argumentative and becoming quite selfish. We are at our wits end! Prior to the keppra she was a happy, well behaved and balanced little girl. The consultant has suggested that the keppra may be to blame along with the onset of early puberty but will not take her off of the keppra. If anyone has any advice I would be very grateful. x

Our 4 yr old just started Keppra ~1 week ago after starting Trliptal for about 2 weeks. She developed a terrible rash from the Triliptal STAT..My child engine runs normally. Our hopes and prayers of her tonic clonic seizures being febrile in etiology have deteriorated..Her seizures happen in the middle of night and last for 8 to 10 min...an eternity..but I thank God she pulls through..Dr Sultan MD has been amazing
