The dr wants put my 6yr old on Keppra fir brief tonic clonic startle seizures. certsin noises starle her send her into 10-20sec seizure. Happens when shes tired or ill. Used be cintrolled with 1/4 .5mg of clonazepam 2xs day he said wasnt a long term trestment took her off it. we alreaxy tried Topamax he said commonly causes slow learning, stop eating, short term memory loss,  eye pain and blurred vision. she cant tell me when somethings bothering her. she had srizures mtiple times a day, stopped eating by mouth, acted very strange. He said look into Keppra let him know. I dont wany her learning slowed, vision messed with, her personality to change. Idk what to do. Right now she has 5-6 a week. HEMP CBD OIL helps alot but we live in TN and medical CBD is illegal.

We used Keppra initially to treat our 3 year old son's seizures (grand mal).  We did see some behavioral changes that were of concern to us during the first few weeks of treatment.  With a B6 supplement and time for his body to adjust, the side-effects subsided substantially.  Unfortunately, the Keppra didn't work on treating his seizures so he was eventually weaned off of it.  I wish you the best of luck...

My 11 year old son has been on Keppra for 14 months with no side effects other than the initial sleepiness until his body became accustomed to it.  It does not totally cotrol his seizures but it has greatly reduced the frequency.  We've had good luck with the Keppra - hope it works for yours.
