Has anyone had success with medication

Mon, 01/23/2006 - 18:18
My son is 15 and just started Lamictal. (First med treatment/started seizures approx 1 month ago) I have been reading a lot re: Lamictal and Epilepsy online and have not run across anyone stating they are on meds and in control of their seizures. Are there any success stories? Thanks, Kelley

my daugter who is 10 was recently diagnosed after years of abscense seizures that were unknown to be seizures until a few months ago they started to cause her head to shake for 5 to 20 seconds. she was but on Depakote and within 2 days all seizure activity stoped so far it has been a month

Hi Kelly, I have a 3 year old who has had two seizures. One on christmas eve of last year and one in may. She started on phenobarbital and her doctor felt that since she was not having any more seizures to take her off the meds, that was in march. Needles to say she had another seizure in May. She is now on Trileptal and has not had a seizure. The medication seems to work for her so far. My husband and I have accepted the fact that she has epilepsy and we know that she has to quite possibly stay on medication in order to prevent seizures. I guess what I am trying to say is that the medication will work depending on the needs of the person. We are thankful that she is seizure free so far. All we can do at this point is have faith and pray. kksmom
