I can understand where you are coming from. I was diagnosed when I was 13 ( now I"m 17) and it didn't help that the school nurse followed me sometimes. I know that right now in your mind if you might have the same mindset as I you really don't care about other people's lives being worse. For me at that time I just wanted someone to understand me. I didn't want to hear about people dying across the nation and how I could be having one everyday I wanted people to understand my perdicament and not compare. The thing is that I felt very alone and you aren't. I didn't realize this website I just hated everyone because there was no one else. Remember this: No one will get you out of this funk except you. It's lonely and painful especially if none of your family members understand. You can't live life hating yourself and everyone else I learned that personally. Evolve as a person yourself don't feel forced because there are worse circumstances in the world. You won't love yourself automatically because of these responses, but maybe you'll realize that you aren't so alone. Life isn't going to end and it might take you a few years to realize it, it took me 2.

I was 33 years old, a Special Education Teacher, and a mother of three wonderful children when I had head trauma in a car accident.  I had my first seizure on the scene of the accident.  I have had over 200 seizures since.  I have no idea when I am going to have them, I just know I have had them when I finally come around to my senses again, or I wake up on the floor.  I also feel that my life has come to an abrupt end.  My children are 13, 11, and 6.  My license have been taken away from me until I am seizure free for one year ( like that is going to happen anytime soon) and I have a husband that owns his own business.  Therefore, I am stuck in my house 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.  I have 2 sisters, whom live only about 5 minutes from me.  Since the car accident, they have yet to call and ask if I need a ride to town to go the grocery store or to get my hair cut, or just to go to Books-A-Million and browse the books and get a cup of coffee.  I am a candidate for surgery, and I am having the WADA test on February 6 and I hope things go well.  I am trying my best to keep a positive attitude, but it takes more than I have to do that these days.  If it weren't for my children, I wouldn't have continued trying for this long.  So I know what you mean when you say you hate your life.....

Look that is a very poor attitude so stop it.! Look I have had epilepsy for 48 years. And the last 24 years my doctor thinks I might have grown out of it. But that's beside the point, I developed it  when I was 12. Was quite fortunate that my mother was a nurse. So their knowledge was quite limited. But you wrote you you have 3 children don't show them how unhappy you are for pete's sake. And this would give you an excellent oppurtunity to explain epilepsy to your family and friends  about epilepsy and no1 you have seizures NOT fits. And since you have to stay in the house , do you have a web cam or know someone who does? If so you could make a video and explain what Epilepsy is. And submit it to a local school for today's young people  to know what epilepsy is. For some reason it has a stigma  and people are afraid to talk about it. That was 1 thing my mother told me at an early age not to be ashamed of it.So I hope I help you. It took me a long time to find the right combo so keep your chin up.

Another thing mom told me is we all must bear a cross .
