Macropsia? Things feeling larger than they are??

Fri, 09/14/2007 - 10:01
Hello all, I am wondering if any of you have had this experience with your simple partials. Does anyone ever have a seizure when some part of your body, say your hands or fingers, feel extremely large? I've had many of these and my neuro has told me that this is called macropsia. I've looked this term up but all I can find references vision appearing larger than things really are, not things feeling larger than they really are. Has anyone heard of this of this or have experience with this? I'd love to hear your stories as so far I'm the only person I know with this little oddity!! Thanks! Beth

Mines a little more different. I used to have this in a dream, where there was something black like a small dot and then it started getting bigger and bigger. And it kind of had a background sound like a laundry noise getting noisier and noisier.. and now its not in a dream,, ive been having it just in general ... dont know if its kind of like anxiety, when i move my leg fast it kind of just happens.

Some of you who experience before you fall asleep may be having seizures right as they fall asleep or during sleep.

I think this must be what's happening with my tush!!! No seriously, I've heard of this happening with the vision, but not quite as you describe it. I do at times feel as if my right arm and leg are "heavier" than my left when I have a s/p, but not necessarily larger. I have bilateral TLE, and I think this happens when my left temporal lobe misfires.
