Epilepsy and marijuana

Hi all, I was wondering whether or not the effects of pot on the brain can intefere with the effects of the epilepsy medicine Tegretol 400mg per day. I know grapefruit and alcohol have adverse effects on the drug's treatments and can lead to uncontrollabe seizure possibilities in some cases. However, in the case of weed I do not not if it does have any interference or not. So if anyone could help me here I would appreciate it. Thanks.Chris

I DONT SMOKE AS MUCH AS I USED TO BUT I'VE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM GETTING HIGH SINCE AGE 11 I STARTED HAVING SEIZURES AT 13 (MY DAD HAS THEM TOO) I THINK YOU JUST SMOKED TOOOOO MUCH!! $170 WORTH IS ALOT WELL IT DEPENDS WHAT KIND IT WAS TOO OR WHERE YOU LIVE CAUSE IN SOME PLACES IT MORE EXPENSIVE. DONT SMOKE SO MUCH THOUGH JUST LIKE THE MOST 2 BLUNTS AND YOU'LL BE GOOD OR EVEN BETTER @ 5 PIPES A DAY.

Nigma, I'm on lamictal, and let's just say that's definitely not the issue here.
you're not going to feel the enjoyable yet medicinal side effects of marijuana when you burn through $170 worth. what you're going to feel, as you said, is just dizziness, disorientation, a bit of the old aphasia, and drowsiness. what you're describing is marijuana abuse, not unlike popping an entire bottle of medicine or downing a whole bottle of alcohol. the only difference is that you don't feel the sickening, dangerous effects of the former two. it doesn't take that much to both enjoy and get seizure protection from marijuana, which is why it is such a beneficial drug--it doesn't need to be taken in massive doses and it doesn't cause drug overdoses. $170 worth of marijuana could hold one over for a very, very long time.

I'm on Lamictal and have no problem getting high. I did start smoking before I started taking the medication but I don't think that it has any effect on it. Maybe you're smoking too much if you've been going 4 days straight. Or maybe it's just you and you don't like the way it feels. There are a lot of people like that.
