Uuuugh...I'm on my 3rd day of taking Tegretol.I had my 2nd sz on Friday morning, and he put me on Tegretol 200 mg...so I have to start by taking half a pill 3 times a day for 3 days, and then starting Monday I have to take a full pill (so I guess that's 600mg a day?)I feel so dizzy, so drowsy....so "not myself". Could this be the meds? Or could this be the after-affects of my seizure? Believe it or not, I felt good enough to go to work later on that day. So, I think it might be the meds.Do you think my body will get used to it? I hope so!! Cuz this is ridiculous!

I am new to this site, and have learned so much! And i see there ALOT more to read and learn.

My question is.......-If you have been on tegretol for along time(15 years), can you have withdrawels if you stop taking it? I have been very good at taking it. It is my LIFELINE!  But there have been times that I could not go the dr. to get new rx. Or could not go pick my rx soon enough. after a few days of not taking it i would start feeling weird. My vision would strange, i would have really bad cold sweats. And the longer i went without it, the worse i got.  I would have to get somebody else to go pick it up for me. that was not easy to do alot.  I was single for awhile, and didn't have any family or close friend to help me.   I do that very often because i knew how important my med was important. nuntheless it happened.  years ago, it would take 3 days for it to effect to the point the i did not feel safe driving to pick it up. Now it only takes a little over 24hrs. to feel the same effect.

Tegretol has been very good for me. That was the only thing(at that time) that would take care of that part the brain.

Okay, long story. now for the ?. Can you become actually addiccted to the drug? Am i feeling wirhdrawels from not taking it for a few days?????

I have asked my dr.  I have asked my pharmistist.  They all say the same thing. They had never heard of anything like that for teg. And they didn't think that that was what i feeling.

PLEASE,PLEASE....if anybody has any idea of what is going on, I need some answers.  only one time i went a whole week befor i could it. I almost ended up at emergency. I couldn't have gone any longer.  Teg has worked for me. that and changing my whole life.  people, places and things that stimulated my brain in an adverse way.

                     ANSWERS PLEASE ANYBODY!!!
