Finding Zeiss Z1 blue lenses to treat photosensitive epilepsy

Staff Notice

For about 3 percent of people with epilepsy, exposure to flashing lights at certain intensities or to certain visual patterns can trigger seizures. This condition is known as photosensitive epilepsy.

I found a study which shows that Carl Zeiss brand z1 blue lenses are highly effective in treating photosensitive epilepsy. The study is at: http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi/full/10.1111/j.1528-1167.2006.00463.x?prevSearch=allfield%3A%28z1%29.

These lenses are available in Europe, but I haven't been able to find them in the US or on the internet. I emailed Zeiss customer service about this, but I got no response. Does anyone know where I can find these lenses. I suffer from photosensitivity (as well as temporal lobe epilepsy). I use polarized glasses, and these help some, but I'd really love to try these lenses.

Also, has anyone with photosensitivity tried using any kind of blue tinted glasses, or cross polarized glasses? If you have had good results, would you please tell me which brand you used and where I can find them?

UPDATE: I found out from another website that these lenses are not available in North America. This came from Carl Zeiss customer service.

Do not confuse color of lenses with light filtering. Big difference and mistakes will cost you. The Zeiss F133 filter RED wavelengths of light that trigger photo epileptic seizures. Very different than lenses that filer out HEV, high energy visible blue light. Also be careful listening to folks that dont quite get the info correct. UV light is wavelengths of  light that is less than 400nm and infrared is wavelengths greater than 700. Visible light is that which the eye responds to for approx 400-700nm. Below and above that range the eye generally does not respond to as it doesnt see it. Zeiss F133 block between 550-650nm.

I haven't had a seizure since

I haven't had a seizure since 2013 until last weekend.. I had one they couldn't get me out of and was placed on life support.. Went back to work on Tuesday and the same thing happened on Friday and was again placed on life support.. I just got home yesterday. The only difference from then and now is my new job.. I work at a call center and am an insurance agent.. The florescent lights in there bother me some and I find myself having to step outside and breathe and also I have to use two different computer screens.. Is there any way I can be guided in finding glasses that can help me? Thanks for your time!
