Colored Lenses

Mon, 03/20/2006 - 17:40
Has anybody tried colored lenses to reduce photosensitive seizures? I know it's really knew thought and technology but just curious as to it's use in the real world. I have an appointment tomorrow to try it out. Fingers crossed. Also, has anybody ever felt an aura that lasts all week and feels like you're drunk? I am going on a week of feeling this way now, very frustrating.

I haven't talked to my doc about this week because I don't want to be on more meds right now. I am on a super low dose of a pregnancy safe AED until I am out of my child bearing years (I want more kids, not pregnant but not preventing either) so the clinical tx for more sz in my experience is more meds. I will call him if this feeling doesn't go away. It does have the same feeling as when you are adjusting to a new med or new dose. I'll let you know how the lenses work out. I have never been diagnosed with photosensitive epilepsy however from my own observation it's areas of poor or flickering light that precipitate sz most easily, so the photosensitive part is self diagnosed.

Hi All, I'm just wondering what doctor you use to obtain these special lenses, currently we only have the dark glasses in Ireland, but i'm willing to travel anywhere in the world to get a pair. I'm 23 and have suffered from photosensitive epilepsy since the age of twelve. The condition has progressively deteriorated ever since-even with increasing my dose several times and it is starting to take over my life. I'd appreciate if you could post the name of your doctor/opticion on this for me. Kind regards, NAomi
