Seizures with flying

Mon, 03/06/2017 - 13:12
My daughter, at age 10, had seizures the entire flight from Texas to California. Here we are 4 years later and I am terrified to get back on a plane with her. Has anybody out there had a similar experience? My daughter has absence seizures and complex partial. Thanks! Carrie

Hello Carrie, I have Epilepsy

Hello Carrie, I have Epilepsy, I'm not married and don't have any children but I have flown on my own when going to see friends and family members. Twice I've had a seizure on an airplane. I love flying though cause I've always wanted to be a pilot. The first time I had a seizure on an airplane was when I was coming home from going to see my stepsister in Hampstead NC. I had the seizure when changing flights in Raleigh NC. I woke up in the Hospital E.R.  The second time I had a seizure was when I was leaving my hometown of Memphis here to go see my best friend in Shreveport LA. I ended up having a seizure right before the plane started to back out of the terminal. But the nurse at Memphis International Airport called my mom and told her to come and get me and I got a new flight out to see my best friend in Shreveport the next day.
