Our seizure journey

Sat, 10/07/2017 - 11:34
My little guy is 18 months old as of 10-7-17 and he started having seizures out of nowhere late September sorry I don’t know the exact date. He is teething (molers)and as a mommy I think that could be playing a role as that’s just my thoughts. I think he is going though growth spurs again trying to tie all of this in together. He was on Colazapan for a week after being released from the hospital they also sent home with him Keppra and Trileptal. Poor baby still has brake through seizures even with those that’s what makes me think it could be his teething and growing since mri and eeg came back normal. I had to give him the rescue med as the doc ordered if he has a seizure even if it last a couple of seconds as he was having multiple seizures that again lasted a mere few seconds as of 10-6-17. I’m wondering has anyone had any of these experiences as we have or am I being optimistic through all of this.

Amy Jo you speak of all of

Amy Jo you speak of all of the things I know to be true, we are taking it one step at a time and trying to figure out medication doses that work for my now 19 month old. It’s so tough seeing the side effects of the meds, but the side effects outweigh not having the seizures under control. So far we’re two days seizure free so something must be working the way it’s suppose to. I am in the process of looking for a epitologist because I’m not to confident in who my son is seeing right now. Taking it one step at a time. Thanks again for your reply it’s nice to talk to someone who has been through this already.
