Anyone with a newborn baby with Epilepsy

My son is almost 3 months old and he has epilepsy.He has Absense ,Grandmal and Seizures where he quits Breatheing.When he was born he was perfectly fine until the next day he would quit breathing on me. They did some tests and said he had a stroke while i was in labor. I dont understand how that could happen I mean what could i have done to cause that? So he had bleeding in his right frontal lobe and which caused the seizures which caused brain damage.They recently changed his medicene from Phenobarb to Depacoat.So basically my question is has anyone had this kind of situation happen to them and their children grew out of it or atleast it got alot better?

Sorry to hear of these babies w/ seizures also. I wish I could offer help in letting you know how our daughter did however she is still small --going to be 3 months on the 9th of March.
I also am wondering the same questions you all are. I was in search of other moms dealing w/ the unknown of development, etc. How frustrating & upsetting it can be. Other friends/parents i know they can't understand how this is.
I too am wondering if others had something similar, were the kids alright & functioning as they grew???
My daughter was born & everything was alright till somewhere around 40 hrs old. Seizures started, the hospital didn't get any meds to her for along time & then damage occurred. That part is what I am worried about & praying she overcomes it. It tears my heart out to think of it. She is now on Phenobarb, Hydrocortizone, & Zantac.
