Am I missing something?

So I have been reading some of the posts by other parents and I have seen alot that the younger kids aren't showing the "traditional" symptoms of seizures and some kids are just screaming or angry... Kaitlyn will be 2 in May, she has had two seizures when she was waking up, and one where she spaced out and would not respond. I am still so new to all of this. Well is it possible that I missing some of her seizures? Could her outbursts be seizures? Or just when she's angry and grouchy for no reason? I mean, I'm sure she can have a bad day but she's been having alot lately. She is normally a happy kid and the past month now she has been aggressive, she's been hitting, biting, and throwing horrible temper tantrums. Everyone is blaming the terrible twos for her behavior, but I would have thought that would have been more gradual then all of the sudden one day she just can't handle anything. How are some of the other seizures? From personal experience, what are you children doing if they aren't having the gran mals? I feel like I'm missing something. Thanks. Emily

I just thought of something else. Several of my son's seizures occurred when he was sleeping. If you don't still have a baby monitor in her room, you might want to put one in there so you can hear her in case something does happen during the night. That could be another reason why she is so irritable, if her sleep is being interrupted by seizures. Just another thought.

sounds like my 11 year old son he now has developed seizures that he has every night where he moves makes a guttoral groaning noise and figits alot I think that it doesnt matter too much the sort of E as there are hundreds but that the doctors try really hard 1 to find a cause or 2 to find a focus and control the E by either meds or surgery we have been throught the first for 4 years and have now been offered surgery I think it is a chance to give him a normal life and with Gods grace this can happen!!!! Funny, my daughter is on trileptal at night (small amount 300mg), but she is also aggressive and moody. She can hit me for no reason or fight with her brother for no apparent reason. She def. had some of these reactions before the meds, and i am wondering maybe it has something to do with the actually condition then the meds. She was diagnosed with Benign rolandic epilepsy in August had a grand mal and then a very bad month six months later in Jan. (had maybe 6 seizures) and then we medicated her and since we have been free! But everyday is a new journey! What type of E does your 9 year old have!! Funny same age.
