3 year old not acting like herself could it be Lamictal

Sun, 08/13/2006 - 22:59
My daughter is 3 1/2 years old and had been on medication since 6 months old for seizures. We are now in the process of weaning her off of lamictal and just taking Keppra (she has been on both for about 7 months now). She has lost some of the milestones she had already reached such as potty trained...getting dressed by herself. The potty training is a no go at the moment!!! I want her to be normal and not get behind. She also has a sensory disorder and gets occupational therapy for it. She does not eat and the dr. is a little conderned because she has not gained wieght for awhile. We just had an inpatient video eeg, she has generalized absence and atonic seizures. I was just wondering if anyone else has issue with losing milestones, sensory behavior.(some days I have an angel and other days it is like a totally different child) Does any other children with seizures act this way.

We had a bad day today we were outside and she had one of her drop seizures she hit her head pretty good..it scares me to death that one of these times she is going to get really hurt. My sister jokes that we need to wrap her up in bubble wrap..on days like today I think HAND ME THE BUBBLE WRAP..I have never heard about the med. Frissium..what type of seizures does Emma have? I am glad that combination is working for her. We live in Columbia, Tn near Nashville and we have been really fortunate with ped.nero's. I would love to talk to you more thanks for your reply..my e-mail is wkrobinson@charter.net if you would like to...I can not get into the chat room for some reason my computer guru is trying to figure out why..talk to you soon
