seizures and short term memory loss

Mon, 02/13/2006 - 16:58
I may not have epilepsy, however one specialist that I did see said he had no doubts that I do, this was based on how my boyfriend described all 4 different types of seizure that he has seen thus far. I have had 5 head injuries from having seizures at the wrong time in the wrong place of my traylor. From these head injuries I now deal with short term memory loss. I have not been able to fully accept my disability yet so adding the memory loss has been very difficult for me. I rely on my daughter and boyfriend for any memory of the past three years of my life. I remember little about my high school days and even regarding past relationships. The memory loss has been one of my largest hurdels when it comes to my studies but I am determined too finish something I have wanted all my life. I always say, It's better to try then not to try at all. There are days when things overwelm me and all I want to do is hide from the world, other days I just lay in bed all day wanting too just give up. Yet the next day rolls around and somewhere somehow I find more strength to battle yet anither day in a life I don't feel comfertable with. May God bless you all, Joyce

I have been having Absence Seizures since age 4, now 44 y.o. All my life I have struggled with my memory. I have difficulty remembering what I did 2 days a go or more - it really is sad because this has affected all of my schooling days and there not advanced then as what they are now. You need to get an assessment done and then work out strategies.
