Stacy,   First of all make sure it is not from your seizures.

But if it makes you feel any better. I wetted the bed till I was about 17 or so too. It just stopped for me. It can be inherited, which in my family there was five of us who wetted the bed. My daughter did it till age six.

I dont know if you can take this or not because of meds. I would check with your neuro first. SHe took a nasal spray called DDAVP. She took it for a year.

You can set an alarm at night to wake to pee.

Your bladder is just small and it probably runs in your family.

You can also do exercises. Is called the Kegel Exercise - here is a site

Hope this helps

Stacy,

I'm no expert in this area, but, my son would wet himself when he was having absense seizures.  Also, I had a cousin who had this problem until he was about 13 or 14 and my uncle ended up getting some sort of an alarm device (a sort of pad he slept on) from the doctor that went off the moment moisture hit the alarm.  He had to wake up, get out of bed and go to the bathroom.  This alarm seemed to cure him of this, they said he slpt too soundly. This cousin of mine also was a very bad sleepwalker when he was very small, I don't know if there is any coorelation between incontenance at night a sleep walking, but something to think about.

I also ran into a mom at my son's school who happened to mention that her step son (in his teens) had this problem and how embarresing it was for him and that the doctor gave him some sort of a pill he could take to help.  She also told me that she didn't like the idea of putting him on medication on a reglar basis, so she would only give him the medicine when he went to stay over someones house.  Maybe you could ask the doctor about that.

I hope you do consider talking to the doctor about this and I hope some of this helps in some way, even if, in the very least , you see that you are not alone and that there are lots of people with this problem.

 Take care,

Wendy
