Music and Epilepsy

This may be an off the wall question, but does anyone with E. has strong emotional reactions (or seem to be VIVIDLY transported to the past) when listening music.  It seems like some songs that I listen to (like songs I used to listen to a lot in my younger days) seem to have this VERY STRONG emotional affect on me and I instantly start feeling all the old emotions I used to have when I was younger listening to the same music.  I have asked my non-E. friends and they think I am crazy... I know that music is therapeutic and all that stuff, however, why such strong emotional reactions?

To my knowledge, music is not yet used as a formal treatment for epilepsy, but the sheer fact that music has shown a potential ability to be a treatment for epilepsy as well as its ability to induce epileptic seizures would seem to indicate that music just might play a more significant role in the human experience than we ever imagined. ____________ Monica. dating sites

Yes I have experienced great intensity and emotions when listening to music.  There are times that I do and I have felt the exact same emotions that I did in the past and I have been able to recreate it by listening to music.  I could not agree that transported would actually be a good word to experience this, but I would express it as a strong memory of association.  I do believe that music is a significant resourse to be used in the prevention of epilepsy.  I have had epilepsy since childhood, but I have not had as many seizures that I have read or observed others have had.  I have used myself as a guinea pig in my resarch and study of the prevention of seizures.   I am not a medical doctor nor do I suggest anyone doing this, as I am not a medical doctor.  My studies can and will be different from others.  But, for me music has been a very theapeutic for me.  Why music has strong reactions is because of your knowledge of your emotions, knowledge and memory which you experience from the limbic system which is deeply ingrained in your brain.
