About 7 months ago my 15 year old started having clonic tonic (grand mal) seizures every 4 weeks almost to the day and time. She always has them about 20 minutes after getting. Up. They are at 5:30 in the morning. I have yet to find anyone out there that has the same situation.

My generalized seizures didn't happen quite with that regularity, but it has been and continues to be amazing how those seizure can follow such a regular schedule.  With such regularity you might ask Dr. if your daughter could take an extra pill (either the anti-convulsant she is on, or maybe Ativan or Klonopin) the night before she goes to bed.

Welcome JenniferResearch Nocturnal epilepsy and seizures and then research the women with epilepsy site and you will find out some answers. Nocturnal seizures are seizures that happen during the night or while napping. They also happen right before or after waking up. That would be your 20 minute time period. Now she is 15 so I am thinking she might be going thru the monthly period. If she is then read some of the posts in women with epilepsy and you will find many of them has seizures during their period.women's period and seizures   <<< use bing or google and put that in the search area...After your research then talk to the neurologist about this issue. Yes there are medications like Michael posted, But they are anticonvulsant meds and will need to be prescribed by her neurologist. I carry one with me. My seizures can cluster so after my first seizure I take lorazepam (Ativan) which stops the clustering. There are several medications that have a dosage that are used as rescue medications and one is lorazepam. Only her neurologist will know if one would help stop her seizures.I hope this helpsJoe
