TLE - diagnosed at age 45

Tue, 09/12/2017 - 07:34
Out of the blue I had a tonic-clonic seizure on May 27 and another on July 30... I only just recently got into see a neurologist who, after arranging EEG and MRI, diagnosed me with TLE. We are still playing with the drugs - as I am still experiencing many partial complex seizures (at least once/week since May) Wow. I have never had any health issues or concerns in all of my 45 years. I had to surrender my driver licence, I feel like I have lost all of my independence... Why would this start now? I am so confused.

Mine started on me at 35 I was working in oilfield lost that job. year latter still playing with meds. Think we might have it maybe changing meds. again this week but that's due to kidney stones. Just be honest with your doctor and it does take a while for meds. to get in your system, some of my side effects have gone away after taking meds. for awhile at first they were very bad. And yea I had to give up my license to just part of it wish you the best of luck , just stay positive best you can. It's easy to get down don't do it , don't drink, and stay away from negative people that's just my small experience with epilepsy.

It is scary and feels unreal, doesn't it? I'm still coming to grips with it too - out of the blue tonic-clonic seizure at age 44 this last November. It doesn't seem fair, and I'm still angry about it. I think it helps to talk about it, and know that you are not alone.
