TLE - diagnosed at age 45

Tue, 09/12/2017 - 07:34
Out of the blue I had a tonic-clonic seizure on May 27 and another on July 30... I only just recently got into see a neurologist who, after arranging EEG and MRI, diagnosed me with TLE. We are still playing with the drugs - as I am still experiencing many partial complex seizures (at least once/week since May) Wow. I have never had any health issues or concerns in all of my 45 years. I had to surrender my driver licence, I feel like I have lost all of my independence... Why would this start now? I am so confused.

Hi! You came to the right place!  You are not alone...and like others have said...stay away from negative people...and reduce as much stress as you can in your life.  Also listen to what Joe said.  He said it best!  I have been living with non convulsive absence status Epilepticus for 37 years now...and I have been married 14 years....no kids...just a dog...and I am fortunate enough to have the same full time job for 17 years.  It has been rough at times.... But keep your stress low...and know you are not alone.  Everyone here is great and willing to help!  Stay strong!
