Normal EEG?

Thu, 03/08/2012 - 10:31

Hi,

I have had tonic-clonic seizures about every 6-8 months for the last four years.  I am currently on Lamictal (just switched from the generic lamotrigine).  I recently had another EEG.  I was told that the results were "normal."  When I asked what that meant, I was told that all it means is that I had no seizure activity during the EEG, but it didn't mean that if I had another EEG on a different day it would be normal.

What does it mean when an EEG is "normal"?  Does it just mean that my medication is working?
