Medicine change again

Carter is on Felbatol 200mg tid and Zonegran 100mg 1time a day. Know the doctor is taking him off of Zonegran and putting him on Topamax. I dont quite understand this because since he starting taking Felbatol he has not been sleeping at all and know he wont hardly eat. I guess maybe the combination together will make that better I dont know.. Well my question is what are the sideeffects of Topamx. Carter is only 19 months old so I was just wandering what to look out for. God what a rollercoaster. I hope the Doctors find something that works soon it makes me nervous playing with all this medicine. If anyone can help I need it.

hi my 11 month old takes topamax and keppra, we really haven't seen to many side effects with the topamax maybe a little more sleepy when she first started on it about four months ago but it did seem to help we do give her the tablet instead of the sprinkles though because any time she was sick the sprinkles would come right out in her bowel movement. she has complex partial seizures that always go into status epilepticus every time she has one we have to give her diastat. what kind does your son have? best wishes krissy
