Seizures & The Effects of Season Change & Daylight Savings Time

Wed, 09/06/2006 - 08:27
My son was diagnosed two years ago with epilepsy. He is now 8 years old. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced the seizures to be brought on by change of season or with daylight savings time. My son has had two grand mal seizures of which the first one occured in October of 2004, with that, he was placed on meds and sure enough in October 2005 another grand mal. I am very worried as October is rapidly approaching us. Has anyone else out there experienced this? I certainly do not feel that it is coincidental. Hope to hear from you! Thanks and make it a great one!

I havent really noticed if I have seizures at one time more than the other, I'll have to sit down and think about it.  What I do want to add to your discussion is this.  First Im 43, first diagnosed in 1st grade so I've been dealing with this for awhile.  And I do everything I can to make sure I'm drug compliant.  I've noticed lately that when there is a big sun blast or coronal blast that hits the earth I kind of notice it.  I dont have a seizure but during those days, several times a day I just have a weird feeling.  At first I didnt associate it with the sun but a news report or something caught my attention and I sort of connected the two.  So the next time I had the feelings I looked up what the sun was doing and sure enough it was sending a blast our way.

I just opened this website this morning to see if I was the only one with this problem. In a way, I wish I was because I wouldn't wish this on anyone. I dread the change every year because I know I will have this problem.
