Hi everyone this is my first time on this chat, my daughter was diagnosed with Absance Seizures last year she is 8 years old. She started off on Ethosuximide for several months and then prescribed Depakote in July of this year. Since then I have slowly noticed changes in her she seems bit withdrawn and emotional at times. She feels different she tells me. She has experienced vomiting several times cause of upset stomach. Although She has had great improvement w meds but seems they are changing her what can I do or suggest to neurologist when we see her again?

You can call her neurologist

You can call her neurologist and discuss this issue with them since throwing up is part of a seizure to many people. During that talk also tell them about her being more withdrawn then before and emotional. Those could be side effects from the medication.

thank you.

We were just diagnosed and prescribed ethosuximide, did you notice any side effects with it? Hope you were able to figure something out with the new meds and your daughter is doing well.
