eight and a half hours

Fri, 01/27/2006 - 15:48
I just got on this sight today. My daughter Melody has had seizures since 2 months of age. She is fourteen now. At the age of 18 months she seized for 8 and a hafl hours. She is totally disabled now. She lives with me. And I love her to death. How ever since that faithful night 12 years ago she has not had another seizure. Except when I put her on Baclafin for spasticity reasons. I soon took her off. Am I the only parent who's child has seized so long? Twelve years ago I was. Am I still? I am very curious about this. I like this sight. I think I've read about every kind of seizure there is but none I can find that has lasted as long as Melody's. Thanks

There are many who have been through long status events like this. I know of a couple at EFA who have disabled kids as a result. I am so sorry your child had this happen. It is good that she has not continued to have them, but so hard to see her so harmed by it.

Thanks, I thought I was alone.
