Has anyone's child had one of these? Is it stressful on the child?

Hi, my daughterjust turned 3 in March, and in Feb, she had her first 24hr EEG with the video monitoring, To get the leads on her head was exhausting at Hasbro they used this strong glue mixed with ether the smell was awful I laid with her on the bed and sang to her then they had a small blowdryer and the glue turned into cement then they wrapped all the wires and leads in strile bandages so she couldn't pull on them. Next they brought us to our rom which is equipped with the small monitoring t.v. to make sure they had her on video.I brought plrnty of vhs tapes of all the cartoons she likes best we also brought bubbles, crayons&paper, favorite toys books and also pre-made all her ketogenic meals and snacks I also requested a rocking chair for my room to soothe her and we rocked and watched cartons so our stay was not at all bad I hope maybe I gave you some ideas so your stay is as comfortable for you and your child as possible! good luck !!

We have had this a few times, but with an older child. I think how stressful it is for the child can depend on the child as well as how the parents copes with it. We brought a lot of little surprises to occupy time (dollar store), videos, playdough, BUBBLES, things that will be fun. Rocking chair is a great idea. Even with my older son, during a long monitoring he wanted back rubs and cuddles. I hope it goes well for you! Gin
