Diagnosed with Epilepsy and starting college.

Wed, 08/02/2017 - 23:11
I am 19 years old and I just got diagnosed with epilepsy today and my head is completely spinning. My seizures started a week ago and I didn't even know I was having seizures. I'm going back to college in about two weeks and I just feel like everything has completely changed. Last year was my freshman yeah and I had so much freedom and independence, and now going into my sophomore year, i feel like a burden and just don't really know what to do. I've been put on medication to hopefully stop the seizures but I'm scared for id they don't stop. I guess my question is how to I start to even cope with this. I don't want this to change my life and make me stop living but like I said I just don't know what to do.

WelcomeInteresting questions...How does a person with high blood pressure control his blood pressure? How does a person with diabetes deal with their issues? How do people with vision difficulties handle their problems? There are many other ailments that a person can have that can cause one to think. But you are rather then thinking you are letting your mind spin and not really looking at how to deal with your issue. What did you do when they started weeks ago? Did you go about your daily routine or did you question what is happening? All of the ailments I listed have DOCTORS that can and do help a person get control of their blood pressure. diabase and other ailments. Epilepsy and seizures are no different. Medications have been around for many years. I have only taken them for 50+ years. Those medications are created to stop seizures. It is finding the right medication and dosage to stop your seizures. I went to college. I worked in many different fields. I was part owner of a small business. I am no different then the guy next door. You are no different then the next door lady. It is learning how to use common sense and working with you or neurologist and asking questions and taking medications correctly.Learn how to control your epilepsy. Understand that it is you and your doctor that can control your epilepsy. Don't let epilepsy control you.

Not gonna lie to you, epilepsy is tough and restricts some things other people can do. But don't worry, as long as they find a medicine that controls your seizures you'll be fine. I'm no doctor, this is NOT medical advice but I recommend you try CBD oil so your epilepsy could be controlled more.
