Back to College

Sun, 06/25/2017 - 13:54
So I'm going back to college. I start on August 11th. Here's my deal though. I've been in and out of college since I graduated in 2009 because of Epilepsy problems. I've gone to college three other times already. Also for three different things. Should have stayed with the same track I know but I'm indecisive and I get bored easily. First time I was at the community college, I was there for my AA but I had just found out that I had Epilepsy. My GPA started dropping near the end of a year and a half. I was having seizures, getting stressed (seizures, forgetting things, getting behind, having to miss class), wanted to go to this other school, and so I transferred. I transferred to the Art Institute. I moved out. My GPA was good, I was happy, my seizures got worse, and my license eventually revoked, but I was still good. Until my seizures got really bad and I got way behind. I was at the AI for photography. You can't go to an art school and miss multiple classes then try to catch up super quick. We went to school on quarters instead of semesters. Four sections instead of three, so basically school year round. On Winter break, I was in the hospital for an EEG. I got a call from the main man himself of campus saying that I could come back when I wasn't "sick" anymore. My mom wanted to sue but I felt too safe in that hospital room to care about what was going on. Lucky for him. I only had three classes left to take until graduation. So I'm back at home, and I decide well why not try something else because I really, really want a degree. I go to the community college again. I've always wanted to work in the criminal justice field. I've always wanted to be a lab tech but with Epilepsy that isn't an option so Cyber Crime Technology was my option. Come to find out, I cannot do online classes. I forget about them. I can't keep up with them. Some require you to check in everyday. My GPA dropped so low that financial aid said, "Goodbye". So there went that. So my classes are definitely seated now and I'm going back to finish my AA, which I should have completed by May, BUT my memory is my greatest enemy right now. I have no clue how I am going to remember everything. I know note cards because I am obsessed with them but I really am not sure how else to remember everything. My classes are Intro to Criminal Justice and Sociology of the Family, and they are back to back. Suggestion on how to remember things?

I am trying to get back into

I am trying to get back into business school because I had too many seizures to attend in 2015. Now that my seizures are more under control, I have to go through a ton of bureaucratic red tape from Financial Aid to register for fall classes.
