Looking for a teenager to interview for a newspaper article about epilepsy.

Mon, 11/14/2005 - 12:51
My editor just let me know that the article's pub date has been pushed back to December or January -- this means I have more time to collect interviews. Any teenager or parent of a teen who would like to help spread epilepsy awareness, please email me at [email protected]. I'd like to interview you for an article in the Virginian Pilot. Thanks, Adrianne

My name is Cara and I'm almost 18years of age. I was 17 when i was diagnosed with first seizure epilpsy. In that time i've only ever had 2 main seizures and 1 were i was almost in the state of an attack. I am now on Epilim, 4 times a day. The doctors never have actually discovered i have epilpsy only traces of my attacks. I can tell when my seizures are coming on, and i usually won't get over the seizure fully for about 24hours. I can't drive until april, as i was told to wait 6months before being behind the wheel, and i don't drink anymore as it gives me headaches, leading to a seizure. I would really like to share with people what it's like living with epilpsy of what i can and can't do. Thanks... Cara xo

It sucks i missed this, i would have loved to help. I need to find someplace in my school where i can help sread the awareness to my fellow students. It is hard for me to not be close friends with anyone that has epilepsy, i all i have is my normal friends and my parents. Most of my friends don't understand what it is, only the ones who have seen me have one. Liz ([email protected])
