I need a new charm, but all to ugly.

Sun, 08/01/2010 - 17:42

I'm nineteen years old and I need to get either a medical alert bracelet, anklet, ect. I was diagnosed when I was about 11-12 I've only had two and probably only worn them twice each. A main reason is because they are ugly. I'm not the most fashionable girl in the world, but at least I want to look decent in it.

So the question is: I need jewlery of any price for a NINETEEN year old girl/teen can you help me please?

Pickiness: no red! I hate the color red (charm) and I know that red is probably a universal "red alert" color, but I don't like it. Black is also not a strong forte of my liking. I am also not into just plain chains. I don't like velcro. To be honest I'm into beeds a lot but I'm open to everything else. But one of the most important thing to be is discretion, I know the charm has to be noticeable enough, but I do NOT want a red charm.

 Thanks a lot!

Tthere are plenty of great looking alternatives, for example, you’ll find some very cool bracelets at:

Peace of Mind Jewelry http://peaceofmindjewelry.com/charity.htm#Epilepsy_Awareness_Bracelet where $10 of your purchase is donated to the Epilepsy Foundation.

Fiddledeeids http://www.fiddledeeids.com/ you’ll find a whole array of beaded medical alert bracelets, charms here, you name it.

Sticky Jewelry http://www.stickyj.com/ has cool Pandora style bracelets, beaded bracelets and lots of fashion forward medical alert jewelry.

Lauren’s Hope http://www.laurenshope.com/category/87/womens-medical-alert-jewelry has medical ID bracelets ranging  from casual to elegant…you can even create your own custom bracelet.

However, all that being said, Medic Alert has saved many people's lives.

Good luck!     Phylis Feiner Johnson   www.epilepsytalk.com

Here's the info about the medic alert bracet or necklaces. (You COULD keep the necklce kind of hidden.)  http://www.medicalert.org/  No, it's not beautiful, but it has saved many lives.

The medics recognize it and you can change your information, when needed.  (Like if your meds change.) They also know whom to contact: like your parents,  doctor or a friend, especially if you land up in the hospital.  If you have an "Advance Directive," you can send it to them.  They charge an extra $25.00 a year to keep it.  But in the long run, $25.00 a month is a small price to saving your life!    Phylis Feiner Johnson   www.epilepsytalk.com
