As random as this is Lostlia For my final year of high school I am doing case studies of people with epilepsys A few have emailed me yet I have yet to have a younger one from US! Anyway basically I just have people give me how they were diagnosed and then do sub headings like social life: then do two sentences how epilepsy affected social life They do this for social life, work life, stigma of epilepsy(what society thinks of it) and how epilepsy affects your outlook on life Anyway if anyone reading interested in shooting an email how epilepsy affected their lifestyle shoot me an email at emilyzucak@hotmail.com Any questions shoot me an email and I'll answer :)

Hey

I am 22 and have been living with Epilepsy for 11 years. AH so long! It makes me feel old :Phaha I am also from Canada and definitely don't have a pet polar bear or sleep in an igloo. Although it would be awesome :P

I can relate to so many of the things that everyone is talking about on here-I myself don't have a driver's license, and even though I am in university I find that my medications slow me down and it takes me longer to complete assignments. It sometimes gets in the way of my social life because I can't stay out late because I get so sleepy, and I need a ton of sleep to be able to function well throughout the day.

Up until the end of highschool I never had any seizures in public...I guess I was just lucky in that they were always in my room. Lately though my seizures have been acting up and I have to be a lot more careful about what I do and whether its safe in case I suddenly have a seizure. My seizures are generally very short-about 10 seconds, but they do interfere with life as I have fallen and hurt myself and I get very anxious and depressed afterwards.

Anyways, even though your seizures may not be well controlled or it gets in the way of living the life you want, be strong and know that it will get better. It's hard to do, but just keep it in the back of your mind. Maybe it will help. It has for me, at least ;).
