What does a petit mal seizure feel like?

Sat, 11/11/2017 - 01:54
Can anyone describe what an absence seizure feels like? I've been wondering if they are something I experience. I'm 20 now but my entire life I would sometimes suddenly feel far away. And the only thing I could say to my family was that "everything is so big". I didn't know how else to describe what I was feeling. It's almost like I'm drifting from an open doorway into blackness. And everything I see looks far away but somehow huge. Based on what other forums have said what differs with mine is that im not totally unconscious, as others are with absence seizures. But I don't know what else this could be.

In my experience, I was completely unconscious when I had absence seizures. I did not feel anything, I was just there, stared at some point, for a few seconds...

Well I am not really sure

Well I am not really sure

I don't know if you've found

I don't know if you've found any answers but you're describing something that sounds somewhat similar to something I experience and didn't know what it was for years called Alice in Wonderland syndrome or Lilliputian hallucinations. When it happens to me it only lasts a few minutes but sometimes feels like longer. Things look way bigger than I know they are or seem very far away when I know they're really close or vice versa. Hope this helps or that you have found some answers!
