Firstgiving For Everyone: Support Research & New Therapies for Epilepsy

What is Firstgiving?
Firstgiving.com allows you to be creative in designing an individual fundraising page for your favorite charity. (See our $5 Campaign.) You can craft a page that you can share with your friends, family, co-workers or anyone interested in joining your cause!
What can I do with a Firstgiving fundraising page?
You can help raise money for the Epilepsy Therapy Project (ETP). Every dollar raised (minus a small transaction fee) goes directly to supporting programs focused on delivering new treatments to patients. Greater donations translate into greater opportunities for those living with epilepsy! Just imagine being able to improve the chances that a new drug or therapy will be developed; a new drug or therapy that will make you or someone you know seizure free. (Hopefully lots of someones!)
You can use your Firstgiving page and:
- Celebrate your birthday or an anniversary – have people make a donation on your page in lieu of gifts
- Babysit in exchange for a donation
- Drive a friend to the airport and ask them to make a donation on your page
- Throw a party and ask for RSVPs on your page rather than at the door – thus getting a headcount AND helping your charity
- Add your page to Facebook or MySpace or any other social community you frequent
- Get people to sponsor you in a marathon, race, or any event you can dream up. There is no limit to your imagination!
- Email all the people you know and ask them to support you
- Post a badge or a widget on your Blog, People Story, Group, or Forum here in our community. (Get more help with this.)
- Start a competition with your friends here on epilepsy.com. See who can raise the most money.

How do I create my own Firstgiving page?
Just go to our Firstgiving Start Page and click on the GET STARTED button or you can be part of our $5 Campaign by going to that page and clicking on "I want to raise money too" underneath the thermometer. The wizard will walk you through a few simple steps to start your own Firstgiving page.
