New Seizures in Toddler

Hello everyone, I'm new here and so lost and confused. As a child, I had 3 febrile seizures. My oldest, who is almost 8, had 11 febrile seizures between the ages of 13 months and 5 years old. Two days ago, I heard snorting over the baby monitor, and one of my 2.5 year old fraternal twin boys was having what looked like a tonic clinic seizure. We called 911 and the seizure lasted 15-20 minutes, until the emt administered a shot of something in the thigh to make the seizure stop. He was out if it for a few hours but finally started getting back his normal self then. We spent the night in the hospital under observation. He had a tiny fever in the hospital (37.6, if that even counts), but I don't think it seems like a febrile seizure. The day after, he was a little clumsier than normal, but he's better now. Today, We were running errands and he started falling asleep in his car seat. I noticed the tiniest little hand and foot movements, like twitches. I called his name and he opened his eyes a couple of times, but then fell asleep and stopped twitching. We have an eeg scheduled for 3 days from now, but I am so paranoid. I can't eat and can't sleep, and I just want to be with him every minute of the day to watch him and see what he does. I'm reading so much and it all scares me. Has anyone had any similar experiences with these seizures? Thank you!

It might take you and doctors

It might take you and doctors awhile to figure out what is going on. Make sure you are at a Level 4 epilepsy center and seeing an epileptologist--not just a pediatric neurologist. Ask if your child needs prolonged EEG testing. Ask if your child needs an MRI. Become familiar with what all seizure types look like in epilepsy and in children, so if something is going on, you can recognize it. It really might be nothing, but you want to be in a position of recognizing seizure activity in case your child has another seizure.
