Keppra withdrawal issues

Sat, 06/16/2018 - 11:00
Hi my little girl got off Keppra, we did it slowly 250 mg a month from 2000 a day, everything was going good till the last dose, 3 days after we were done with Keppra she got an aggressive 6 min seizure, exactly one week later she got another seizure for a minute and a half. She also has autism so it’s hard for me to understand how she feels, she insists she’s fine and I shouldn’t worry, can anyone pls help me understand for how long the withdrawal period will last??? Ty in advance Very worried mom

Ok, so kidney issues could explain the difference in how keppra is metabolized so there’s a known issue and there’s no need to look further. Kidney & liver function, age and other conditions can impact how drugs are broken down by a person. So your neuro would take that into account when choosing a drug or considering a target dose.
