Does anyone have info about lamictal

Wed, 05/25/2005 - 10:46
Hi everyone,  Its been a long time since I've posted.  My son had been doing really well on 200  mg  TOPAMAX   2x daily

1200 mg  NEURONTIN  3x daily and 600 mg TRILEPTAL  1x daily & 900 mg 1x daily.  He had no seizures for 7 months.  Thats a really long record for him.  We thought we found the right mix our meds.  Then he started having liver problems, so now they are weaning him off only the TRILEPTAL and starting him on the LAMICTAL.   I wondered if anyone one else had this problem?  Anyone having success on LAMICTAL?  Thanks for any help!

Shawn is very careful about eating on time and good food and he is very diligent about taking his meds on time.  He also goes go bed early.   I am so glad he takes this serious.  He knows it's imporatant and I guess that shows how much he hates having the seizures.  We are very lucky, right now Shawn is on cobra.  He was on my insurance (Connecticare) until he graduated from college.  Then he went on cobra until he finds a job with benifits.  He has an accounting degree but no experience, so he can't find a job.  I've heard how expensive the meds are and he is on 3 different ones, 200 mg. of Topamax twice day, 1200 mg  Neurontin3 times a day, and now the Lamictal that they are easing him on to.  I know he is up to 100 mg, but I know don't know how many times a day.  Expensive drugs!  Hopefully he will get an accounting job and have insurance before the cobra runs out.

Hi Erik, since I lost my job (not seizure related) I was scared s***less about not being able to afford my lamictal any more. Good news to all- SmithKlineGlaxo has a Bridges to Access program you can find out about on their website. My neuro is working as my advocate. If anyone is faced with paying for it, give it a shot.
