What in your house can cause seizures? Me & my dog both have seizures!

Ok, here's a good one... I have had epilepsey for 5 years.  It started when I was 23 years old shortly after I moved in with a man who is now my husband, we still live in the same house.  Top neurologists and neuroseurgons have never found a cause for it, no head trauma, no excessive illness, no tumor; but my seizures do always originate from the same place in my LTL.  I'm just one of those "don't know why it started" people.  And I have had EVERY test in the book, gone to one of the top epilepsy centers, and even tried to have a LTL resection, but couldn't complete it because the focus of my seizures is too imbedded into my language center.

Anyway, I just watched my 4 year old beagle (dog) Roxy have a seizure, it was like she was really confused then started shaking and stiffened up.  It looked like a complex partial then generalized into a grand mal.  It was terrifying, now I know how my husband and other loved ones feel when they see me have one.  My husband has seen her have a couple and I have seen her have a smaller one before.  We didn't think too much of it because the vet said that dogs, especially smaller ones can occasionally have seizures for no reason.  But now I'm thinking is this house trying to kill us???  Yes, I know it sounds crazy! I was just wondering is there any signifigant common thing in a house such as mold that can cause seizures & epilepsy and how do you test for it?  Any input would be great, thanks!

So can stuff in your house cause seizures?  Our two year old started having seizures 6 months or so after we moved into our house.  A year later, my wife's cousin moved into our house and had her first seizure at age 20, a month after living in our house.   Just a coincidence?

I know that epilepsy is considered a common neurological disorder in humans, but I am not sure about how common canine epilepsy is.  I researched it a little bit, and it appears from several (not sure about the reliability) websites that mold can cause seizures in dogs.

It also seems like it could cause seizures in people too.  Something to discuss with your doctor AND your vet!

Here is another weird one. My first dog started to have seizures when we moved into this house. I now have a different dog that has started to have seizures. I'm so confused. Could it be something in the house? The only thing he can get into outside is deer poop, rabbit poop. Maybe skunk poop???
