Seizures only when falling asleep

Thu, 05/23/2019 - 23:51
Hi everyone. Thought I would reach out to the online community and share in the hopes that someone may have a cure or better alternative for me and my seizures and perhaps learn from me as well. In short, I have suffered seizures since I was 12 years old with any number of degree and type of seizures. From grand mal to tonic to abscence. Difference though is that I used to not get any unless I was stressed and exhausted with perhaps no seizure for 12 months. Over the years my seizures have changed and as well as their frequency and type. My problem now is that I only get them at night within an hour of falling asleep for no particular reason. Being very healthy and taking good care of myself, I don’t know where they come from. I can be well rested, relaxed, or tired, with of course stress always looming in the background in my life. I have them 1 once a week but only at night. That makes for a lot of seizures but I can normally control them to only at night. I would love to be seizure free for they drain me no matter if they are grand mal or tonic, the next day I am worn out and spent and I cannot live like this anymore. Lately, they seem to be absence or Focal Onset Impaired Awareness types—always with an aura or nausea as an early warning of an onset. Does anyone have a similar story and a remedy for this? Does CBD work as well as I have heard? Thank you very much for any help or advice you can offer me. Of course, this is the shorten version of it all. Thank you.

i have grandmal seizures since i was 15. always in my sleep weekly. my first one i was awake. They tried every medication. Soon as i started taking zarontin and lamictal together they stopped. i do know from over the past 20 years i can bring them on by not getting enough sleep( like going out and partying and staying up all night) so I've learned my lesson. But Those medications have saved me.

also I've had to up my medication over the years. I have gained weight since my teenage years and I think you have to take age and weight into consideration as far as treatment goes. i have to take it twice a day. I do take a larger amount at night
