My head falls asleep

Thu, 03/11/2010 - 16:39
It's difficult for me to describe this, but the past few months my head just falls asleep without warning. The reason why I say this is because it feels like when your foot falls asleep. Like the pins and needles and a little numbness and then that cold feeling. Right before, I start to feel extremely sad, like I want to cry. This feeling can last for an hour or more. I'm getting it now and I noticed that my mood is starting to go back up slowly. Sometimes I get pressure on the left side of my head like someone is touching me. it just stays there and I find myself putting my hand up there. Then it will feel like my face drops on one side. It kind of like jell-o. Does anyone get this?

Mine don't seem to be triggered by anything. I have back problems, so I thought maybe it might be related. But what made me think it might be seizure-related, is the sad feeling a get before the head tingling. Now it's gotten worse. It seems like my head is tingling most of the day and I have a nauseous feeling and my hands feel slightly week. I also have a feeling like something rushing in on the back of my head. That's the only way I can describe it. It reminds me of something, but I'm not sure what. But now it's on the back of my head and it seems to move around the back of my head. Left to right, back and forth. Would anyone go to the emergency room for this? I'm still waiting for medicaid to approve my EEG and MRI.

Newyor...posted (in part):  My head falls asleep - It's difficult for me to describe this, but the past few months my head just falls asleep without warning...Does anyone get this? ------- Sorry, no, I don't experience a feeling of my head falls asleep, however, I am quite aware of the general concept of alertness/partial alertness/consciousness/partial consciousness.  My face does not drop to one side, however, I do display involuntary facial tics at times.  - pgd
