Brainstorming: Should we be offended?

So my yahoo news feed sent me this. http://social.moldova.org/stiri/eng/128767/ As I was reading it I was thinking how absurd it was. Heck, half of the words we use can be seen as offensive if we were to break them down all entymologically and historically and on and on. I think the bigger issue is ignorance towards what epilepsy is. Outlawing the usage of the word "brainstorming" or another other word like it is not going to educate anyone, if anything it makes me feel like that sort of thing just adds more of a stigma and thus makes us more vulnearable. I see it as just another well-meaning, but wayward, example of institutional action that amounts to not doing anything at all except avoiding measures that might actually be helpful. In this case the measure was declared as extreme and unnessary, as it was, but I think this happens elsewhere as well. If people are ignorant they can still be very mean while trying to be very politically correct in their language. (Like my martial arts instructer who was careful not to address the class as "you guys" since I was (the lone) female but did not allow me to spar when I reached level because "women need to learn pragmatic things, like escape tactics.") What does everyone else think about this? Having epilepsy, are there things people say that offend you? (I don't mean like directly insulting you.)

When I was young you didnt have sz you had fits. I still say that though not PC these days .

I wouldnt dream of saying that to anyone else these days or though in the house will still say to the family I have had one they use the word sz. 40 years ago terms used for things were different I wonder if in 40 years the word brainstorming will have disappeared?

I did,nt get it !!! I have been to several of these meetings have a lot of lierure titled this and am reading it here and I did,nt get ?? lol .

wanna hear why, 3/4 of a brain, brain farts, water on my hard drive, short circuit , went from playing jeapordy to playing "are you smarter than 5th grader" (mine) . wow I wished I COULD brainstorm that is what I like to do best and not doing that is a base for my true depression that I do not understand at.

Meaning I was/am full blown adhd, add, aahd, all of that wrapped up but did not see it until a few yrs ago. (i,m 45) and love it brainstorming says to me "multi tasking" lol lol, what a statement I had 25 hobbies,looking for more, reading , constantly , working 50 hrs ,remodeling a house, gardening landscaping, roses, flowers, no grass, and szs, ??? sore as all get out a bad back and thought it was all because of "work" oops .

throw a lot of life in there with sress and a sz, disorder and thats the ticket for disaster . brain storm . lol I live in tornado alley this is an f-5 national news ,lol .

Things I guess if put in the corner and referred to , that would offend me are.

mentally challenged grrrr., disabled is still sinking in ??? grrr. , impaired. ?????? heck I don,t say epileptic ??? . things I have said in reference to this.

really lucky. first I have seen worse much worse.

telling others how i feel sometimes . like I smoked a 1/4 lb. of pot in one hit and never came down.

like the down side of tripping on lsd, shrooms etc. shew bad.like a bunch of 16 yr olds had me in football game. in reference to me hitting myself, I have not been in fight in yrs and am now my worst enemy ?? (that

scares me ) at the beginning of conversations now "i,m sorry but I may not remember this" (do not like that) .

one that was wrong I guess is ahhh i,ll be allright , oops it gets worse. ????

BRAINSTORMING cool I get it now lol. I will use that now in reference to what I,M NOT DOING . thanks

What offends me more is when someone says your the eplieptic....that is the only thing that realy gets me going...and yes i have been called mentally ill...it dont offend me, it realy hurts that people are so under educated in this world.
