Left Temporal Lobe Epilepsy and premonitions

Sun, 03/04/2012 - 17:35

I posted this six years ago and thought I would post it again. Does anyone have TLE and experience premontions or other paranormal experiences that don't seem to be related to the TLE?

I have been diagnosed with TLE but can not take medication. Still not sure after all these years what type of seizures I am having. I have had a few two or three second dizzy spells that I am able to talk and function right through. They are calling those the seizures. I also have had many premonitions and some other bizarre visions. These are not the kind that are typical with seizures. These are partial visions that eventually come true. And they are not coincidences. I had a vision of 911 and many other occurances. I have had these all my life---long before the TLE diagnosis. Furthermore, I am not crazy. I'm a professional who seldom admits to these premonitions because I am afraid people will think I'm crazy.

I thought I read a similar post here but now I can't locate.

I would be interested in finding out if anyone else with TLE has these experiences. In particular, any TLE patients that are not on medication.

I am on these forums because

I am on these forums because my partner was recently diagnosed with TLE and over the past 2 years has progressed from complex partial seizures to tonic clonic / grand mals. He recently visited a neurologist in Adelaide who said he was attempting to put together clinical studies on precognition reported by sufferers of TLE, saying that he has 'heard it too often for it to be nothing'. It seems that science is now considering this as a genuine phenomenon.

Yes, Tweety, I experience

Yes, Tweety, I experience paranormal activity wherever I go.  I, too, got a terrible feeling before 911 that something tragic was going to happen in a place with tall buildings, like New York or Chicago. Shortly before the tsunamis in SE Asia I cried for several days straight, until they happened. I don't tell my doctors about these things, because I have a mood disorder along with the epilepsy.  I hate it when a neurologist tries to send me to a therapist instead of treating me for seizures.  I have already sought psychiatric help for pseudoseizures, after which the doctor told me I needed a neurologist instead. These seizures are debilitating: can't drive, sleeping too much between them, etc. In addition to premonitions, I feel spirits all around and speak with them.  I hear them quite clearly, more clearly than the people with paranormal TV shows.  This can be distracting, but I am grateful I cannot see them.  That would be so distracting that they men with the straight jackets might snag me.Thanks for your post. It doesn't matter if these experiences are "real" to other people.  They are a reality for me, and I like it well. At least I'm not afraid of ghosts.
