Understanding My EEG REPORT PLEASE HELP

Sat, 10/03/2015 - 17:26
I am a 33 year old female having horrible migrain type pain that is constant in my head. It feels like my head is constantly shaking on the inside of my head. Difficulty getting my words out. So that's some of my problems. Here is what Neuro typed The background activity consists of well-developed and regulated, 11-12cps moderate amplitude dominate occipital activity showing good augmentation with eye closure and opening. Central rhythms consists of similar frequencies. Small amounts of frontal beta noted. Small amounts of low amplitude theta intermixed with the background. Hyperventilation did not change the background Photic stimulation produced a bilateral driving response. With portions of this tracing and later 5-6cps synchronous sharp wave activity is seen from both head regions without any clinical correlate. This EEG is abnormal. Physical presents of my restive generalized epileptiform activity suggesting cortical irritability and possible propensity for clinical seizures. I hope someone can help. He started me on Topamax. Very low dose right now and I feel horrible

I read  it but to me it is noting but information from one doctor to another which is also given to the patient. The only part you really m]need to worry about is the part that says  This EEG is abnormal.  Abnormalities are spikes or waves and they can also be called seizure activity.A;; a seizure is "is an electrical impulse hitting wrong in the brain. The wrong hit starts the seizure That electrical impulse hitting wrong is the start, That hit causes a chain reaction. The chain reaction is the seizure.Relax He started you on a medication he knows works because he has a patient on it. Neurologists will start with a low dosage to start with. It gets increased some after a few weeks. It takes time for your body to get used to the medication but stick with it and once the therapeutic levels get set and the dosage is right you'll be just fine

Topamax is also a seizure
