New & Confused
Thu, 07/17/2014 - 15:28Hi I was hoping someone might be able to help shed some light onto my situation. I had my first seizure this past Saturday while at work. My head started to feel fuzzy and I knew something was wrong then the right side of my mouth locked up. And that's the last I remember until being in the back of the ambulance. My boss said I fell on the floor and my eyes rolled back in my head. After getting to the hospital the same thing happened where I went fuzzy and my jaw locked. And apparently I had a third seizure which I do not remember. I had a ct scan, EEG, EKG, and MRI. Every test I had came back negative and I was told basically the electrolytes were off in my head, possibly from not eating for a long period or something. I wasn't actually given an official diagnosis. I am on meds for the foreseeable future and can't drive. But I want to know is this a common diagnosis? And the day after the seizures I felt pretty normal. But now a few days later I feel weird. I feel kind of spaced out and sometimes I feel like I might get that fuzzy feeling again but then it goes away. Is it normal to feel like this? When will I go back to "normal"? If anyone could shed some light onto the situation I would appreciate it.

HiSOme of us will try and answer your post. Some will use their research and others like me will answer because we have experianced having seizures and have been living and dealing with epilepsy, The tests you were given are the tests done by a neurologist. Generally all they do is an EEG and a MRI or CT scan. The EEG is a brain wave test to see the electrical output comming from your brain. With mosr people they come back normal. The MRI is basically a view of the brain from all angles. Those 2 tests could tell what is causing the seizures. I had 15-20 EEG's all come back normal. I hada battery of tests done in about 10 days. Well the last test was another EEG. In that EEG they found abnormalities (seizure activity). The doctors then looked closer at the neuro-angeogran (the MRI of the 1960's. In the closer look they found scared brain tissue caused by a hemmorage to the brain. So in my tests they did find the cause to my epilepsy. Now most peope never find out the cause of their seizures or epilepsy. I had a third seizure which I do not remember. You were put on meds. Well there are many meds and without knowing which meds you were given I can not say if it is for seizures, Or to get your body back from not eating. You also didn't say if you were to see someone or make an appointment to see amother doctor. If taking meds be sure to take them as directed. If 2 time a day those meds need to be taken 12 hours apart. There is a reason for that. Your meds lose strength in your body and if taken at 7 am and 9-10 pm that 2-3 hour delay could cause breakthru seizures. for the foreseeable future and can't drive. But I want to know is this a common diagnosis? But now a few days later I feel weird. I feel kind of spaced out and sometimes I feel like I might get that fuzzy feeling again but then it goes away. It could also be other seizures that haven't gone farther then just wierd feelings or spaced out feelings. I would also suggest you get the My Epilepsy Diary from this site. It can be found in the get help section. watch the video which tells you how to use it and what it can do. There is a notpad in it so if you have those wierd or spacy feeling note them down. You can give your doctor perission to use it and he can look at the graphs and other things and by getting that information he may come up with medications, dosages amd procedures that can help you get seizure free... I hope this helps
