Inpatient 5 day EEG/Ambulatory EEG Cost?

Tue, 07/25/2017 - 11:56
Has anyone had an inpatient video EEG with insurance and remember how much they paid out of pocket? Same with an at home ambulatory EEG. This is to go off of lamictal and just continue keppra monotherapy so the other option is to just slowly wean off over 6-12 months. I don't want to pay an arm and a leg OOP for something that has a free option, even though it would be the most convenient. I have a max OOP on my insurance of $3500 still and I don't have that kind of money.

this is really an insurance

this is really an insurance question. contact your insurance to compare possible EEG copays to 6-12 months of med copays. e.g. our insurance covers such tests completely (getting approved or scheduling them is the real obstacle).
