Odes To Our Memories
Tue, 01/31/2006 - 20:12Topic: Corner Booth
~Ribbon
There's a ribbon on my finger
I guess I put it there.
I'd tel ya why I did it
But, right now, it's not too clear.
It's to remind me not to forget
What I already forgot.
I remember I can't remember
Anything alot!
I guess it should upset me,
I try to give it thought.
But when I stop to think about it,
I forget why I stopped.
This is so totally unfair
And this I want to say too...
...I can't remember what my point was!
By any chance...do you?

Stickies
The sticky solution
sounded so good
so I stuck post it notes
on metal and wood
on desks, drawers and fridge
all covered with letters
my sticky notes flourished
I felt so much better!
But stickies unstuck
those notes became many
the bright colored texts
were helping me less
they were under the fridge
they were under themselves
as I strugged with stickies
they caused me... MORE STRESS!!
"If you can laugh at it you can survive it'---Bill Cosby
Change is inevitable. Stress need not be...
Be well!

"God Forbid It Should Happen to You" The shame and humiliation we've felt for so many years. The nights we've spent shedding countless tears. Fight for our rights, like the black man, we must! Let our voices be heard, and make things just! No longer will we be institutionalized, involuntarily sterilized, or burned at the stake! Stop making us feel like freaks, or Satan's followers, for goodness sake! Think of Julius Caesar, Joan of Arc, Bud Abbott, and Vincent van Gogh. They suffered just like us, but far they did go. Hold your head high, stand steady and straight. We're not handicapped, we've been touched by God's grace. He wants us to teach those who don't understand or know. Yet even with God's steadfast and watchful eyes, we still have a long way to go. We must erase the myths, and replace them with the truth! Nobody is perfect. We're not much different than you! Some people wear hearing aids, artificial limbs, then there's others who need glasses. Don't fear someone who's having a seizure! Stand by and soothe us, it eventually passes. Open your ears, and learn all that you can. Education will bring much more help to your fellow man. Please be kind in everything you do. God forbid, it should happen to you!
