Anybody else with TLE suffer with phobias?

Tue, 12/31/2019 - 14:14
Hi there I’ve had TLE since I was around 5, started with grand mal, now I always have partial seizures. Not had any for about 10 years but just started having them again. I have also suffered with emetophobia all my life. Which Is a fear of vomiting. It has ruined my life thus far. I’ve been researching a link between the amygdala(which is part of the temporal lobe) and phobias. Phobias arise in this part of the brain. So I’m wondering if this is the cause of my phobia, the fact that I have TLE.

It also makes it very hard

It also makes it very hard for me to try new foods, or go out with friends and family because I’m worried that the food will trigger these horrible feelings. It’s prevented me from truly living so I’ve been focused on seeking discomfort until the uncomfortable becomes comfortable.

Maybe not a phobia but

Maybe not a phobia but EXTREME social anxiety. Multiple anxiety attacks in public, around sibling's friends, for presentations. If I step out of my comfort zone, the racing heart, tears and running is coming.
